The Day Guilty Gear Reminded Me Why Live Music Matters

I went to the GUILTY GEAR STRIVE MUSIC LIVE on April 5th, held at Yokohama Bay Hall.


There were no flashy visuals or effects—just pure, unfiltered music. And honestly, that was more than enough. The sheer quality of the compositions and the power of the performance made it a knockout. It was the kind of live show that only Guilty Gear could pull off.


Game music concerts have been popping up more lately, but they’re still pretty rare overall. I’ve done mini-lives at game events myself, but when it comes to doing a full-blown concert, the cost and logistics make it a tough call. It’s been sitting on my “someday” list for a while.


But after seeing the Guilty Gear live, I was reminded just how powerful a live performance can be. It made me think—yeah, I should really do this. I’ll start laying the groundwork and see if I can make something happen next year.
